Ownership
The Contiax name, interface and code belong to ECOM-INDUSTRIE. The contacts you scan belong to you: they only leave your device towards the destinations you configure yourself.
2. Privacy policy
In two sentences. Contiax keeps neither the photos you take nor the contacts extracted from them on its servers: they stay in your phone. The service sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics.
2.1 Who is responsible for what
The business cards you photograph contain other people's personal data. Since those contacts are stored on your device and used by you, for your own purposes, you are the data controller under the GDPR. Contiax is the instrument you use.
ECOM-INDUSTRIE is the controller only for the data the service keeps for its own account, listed below.
2.2 What is processed, and for how long
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The photo of the card | To extract the details | For the duration of the request. The image is processed in memory, its metadata (including GPS location) is stripped, then it is sent to the extraction service and discarded. It is never written to disk nor logged. |
| The extracted details | To send them back to you | For the duration of the response. They are never stored server-side. |
| Your contact book | So you can find them again | In your browser only, until you erase it (Settings → "Erase all my data") or clear the site's data. |
| A random device identifier | To count your scans for the day | In your browser; the associated counter is erased after 3 days. |
| A fingerprint of your IP address | To prevent abuse of the service | The address is never kept in clear: only a salted fingerprint serves as a counting key, erased after one day. |
| Your email address, if you leave one | To raise your scan limit, and to inform you if you agreed to it | Until you ask for its deletion, and at most 3 years after your last use. |
| Usage counters | To know whether the service is useful | Aggregated: an event name, a day, a total. No identifier, no reconstructable journey. |
2.3 The extraction service
Reading the cards is entrusted to Mistral AI, a French company (15 rue des Halles, 75001 Paris), through its programming interface.
According to the terms published by that provider, data sent through the programming interface is kept for thirty rolling days for abuse detection, then erased. Those terms further provide that data sent under its free plan may contribute to training its models, which is not the case for data sent under its commercial plan. The provider gives priority to infrastructure located in the European Union without contractually guaranteeing that no processing takes place outside Europe.
In other words: Contiax keeps nothing, sells nothing and exploits none of this data — neither commercially nor to build a profile. But its extraction provider keeps the image for thirty days. We write it down rather than let you believe in an instant end-to-end disappearance.
2.4 No cookies, no trackers
Contiax sets no cookies — the rule is enforced by the server itself, which strips any cookie from a response — and calls no third-party domain: no remote fonts, no external scripts, no analytics. That is why you are shown no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.
The application uses your browser's local storage for your contact book and preferences. That storage never leaves your device and is readable by no one else.
2.5 Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port the data concerning you.
- Your contact book: erasable at any time from Settings → "Erase all my data". We have no access to it.
- Your email address: write to contact@indusiax.com and it will be deleted.
You may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
3. Terms of use
3.1 A free service
Contiax is provided free of charge, with no account to create. It is offered by ECOM-INDUSTRIE to make the Indusiax software suite known. No payment is requested and no billing takes place.
3.2 Usage limits
The number of scans is limited per day and per device, as well as per network and per hour. These limits protect the service against automated use; they do not hinder normal use. A monthly spending cap may temporarily suspend extraction.
3.3 What you undertake to do
- Use Contiax only for professional business cards handed over willingly, in a professional context.
- Meet your own obligations as a data controller towards the people whose details you record: information, defined purpose, reasonable retention period.
- Not attempt to circumvent the usage limits, nor to automate the sending of requests.
3.4 What we do not guarantee
Extraction relies on an artificial intelligence model: it can be wrong. Every record must be reviewed before saving, and the interface is built for that. ECOM-INDUSTRIE guarantees neither the accuracy of the extracted data nor the continuous availability of the service, which may be interrupted, modified or discontinued without notice.
ECOM-INDUSTRIE cannot be held liable for any loss resulting from misread data, from an interruption of service, or from the loss of the local contact book — it lives in your browser, and clearing the site's data deletes it permanently. Export your contacts regularly.
3.5 Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have jurisdiction.
